ARA Secret Meeting or just a bad AI drawing?

LAS VEGAS—The American Rental Association (ARA) has once again opened its hallowed doors, announcing the induction of three new members into the Rental Hall of Fame: Bick Jones, Peter Lancken AM, and David Wilcox II. The ceremony, to be held at The ARA Show™ 2025, is already stirring up questions about just how deep the rabbit hole goes in this shadowy world of equipment and event rental power brokers.

Bick Jones: The Tent Tycoon with a Mysterious Past

Bick Jones began his rental empire in 1986, leaving a lucrative career in banking, a move experts now believe was part of a clandestine strategy to monopolize Dallas’s party tent industry. According to insiders, Jones didn’t just purchase Cannonball Party Rental—he conquered it, employing "financial acumen" (read: suspiciously sharp accounting tricks) and vague “growth strategies.”

“He revolutionized tent rentals,” said one anonymous colleague. “But let’s not forget: you don’t climb that high without stepping on a few pegs of the ladder.”

Jones has also been accused of using his leadership roles at various companies to quietly influence industry standards. “You think it’s a coincidence that every tent is exactly three feet taller than it used to be?” said a rival rental operator. “Follow the money. Always follow the money.”

Peter Lancken AM: The Australian Architect of Global Domination

With a career spanning continents, Peter Lancken didn’t just lead Kennards Hire; he allegedly transformed it into a cartel. Under his leadership, Kennards grew to over 70 branches, giving it what critics call a “suspiciously convenient” monopoly over Australia’s rental market.

Lancken’s crowning achievement might be his work with the Global Rental Alliance, a seemingly innocent initiative that some believe serves as a front for an international rental syndicate. "Global collaboration? Yeah, right," said one skeptic. "More like global collusion."

Lancken has denied allegations that the Alliance has a secret handshake, a hidden HQ in a Melbourne warehouse, or plans for a "rental world order." However, when reached for comment, he was seen whispering to an ARA official before disappearing behind a forklift.

ARA David Wilcox II: The Politician in Overalls

David Wilcox II has spent decades advocating for the rental industry, which some say is code for “lobbying for unchecked power.” Known for organizing trips to Washington, D.C., Wilcox allegedly spearheaded efforts to make equipment rental America’s most unregulated industry.

“David’s been to more Capitol Hill meetings than your average senator,” noted one critic. “And every time, he leaves with another tax break for the rental guys. Coincidence? I think not.”

His establishment of ARA’s Next Generation of Rental Owners has also raised eyebrows. While it appears to be a mentorship program, skeptics believe it’s more of a recruitment pipeline for indoctrinating young minds into the “rental elite.”

A Lavish Ceremony Shrouded in Secrecy

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony promises to be a spectacle, with whispers of champagne fountains, diamond-encrusted backhoes, and keynote speeches delivered in a cryptic mix of industry jargon and Latin. Critics have demanded transparency, but the ARA has assured the public that the Hall of Fame exists purely to honor “hard-working individuals” and “absolutely nothing sinister.”

For now, the world can only watch as these three titans of rental ascend into the upper echelons of a field no one knew had echelons to begin with.
