Huntsville, Texas-In a move that has everyone in Huntsville nodding knowingly, SpaceFactory, the self-proclaimed pioneer of lunar 3D printing and space construction tech, announced it will relocate its headquarters to the Rocket City. CEO Dave Malott assured reporters, “It’s not because of the rockets... but, okay, maybe it’s a little because of the rockets.”

The $2 million investment will reportedly create 25 jobs, or roughly one job per $80,000 spent—a deal Malott insists is "a bargain for the Moon."

The new HQ will be strategically located near Campus 805, where the company plans to expand its lunar construction division and maybe build a few things for Earth too, just to stay grounded. Gov. Kay Ivey welcomed the announcement with a speech that, for once, did not mention college football.

“Huntsville is ready to launch SpaceFactory into the stratosphere of success,” Ivey said, undoubtedly referencing NASA’s Artemis program, which is trying very hard to be the sequel Apollo fans hoped for.

Meanwhile, Connor McLeod, SpaceFactory’s VP, admitted that Huntsville’s affordability and “quirky vibe” were deciding factors in ditching New York City. “It’s hard to justify paying $7,000 a month for an office that overlooks a falafel cart,” McLeod quipped.

SpaceFactory also announced its new facility will be designed by PlanetWorks Architecture, which coincidentally shares office space with SpaceFactory.

“We like to keep things in the family,” Malott joked, conveniently forgetting to mention if they ever hire outside contractors.
